The main exhibition building of the Shunyi Flower Expo is going to be repurposed into a huge shopping center offering everything from flowers, import goods, to logistic services, along with an array of restaurants, travel agencies, and theaters to entertain weary shoppers as well. The Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park, a venue which hosted water sports events during the Beijing Olympics, has already started undergoing renovations. The existing water sports facilities are being expanded into a water sports center and theme park. Projects for entertainment and fitness centers are also in development in the 15km area surrounding the water park. The resulting venue will be one of the biggest sports, entertainment, and shopping complexes in the northeastern part of Beijing.
