Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan passenger railway is expected to put into operation by mid- February of 2010. The express line will connect with Beijing-Shijiazhuang line at the intersection of Shijiazhuang, which takes 2 hours and 58 minutes from Taiyuan to Beijing. After the opening of the express line, Taiyuan-Tianjin, Taiyuan-Guangzhou, Taiyuan-Wuhan and Taiyuan-Zhengzhou will also open to traffic.
