Jul 12, 2010 By eChinacities.com

Recently, Shenzhen Safari Park has announced that they will be opening a 5D theater – the first in the world – at the venue. The theater's total investment adds up to 8 million RMB and can sit over 200 people. The 5D theater will be used to screen an animated movie entitled “Liger Extraordinaire”. The movie is 20 minutes in length and features 3D images with various 4D special effect features set up around the theater like water sprays, bubbles, mist, flashes and PAR lights. The theatre also features interaction with on-screen characters (which makes it 5D). The movie tells story of a Liger, an animal that descended from the two kings of the jungle - the lion and the tiger - and how he protects the animal kingdom with bravery and strength. After the movie, audiences can also take pictures with the on-screen Liger and he can react according to changes in lighting and camera flash – thus making him very much interactive.

Additional information:
Shenzhen Safari Park is located to the east of Xili Lake in Nanshan district and admission is 130 RMB/person for visiting the park; no additional fees for seeing the movie at the 5D theater.
