Shenzhen Metro Gets Free High-Speed Wi-Fi at End of June
May 22, 2013 By eChinacities.com

The Shenzhen metro recently announced that it plans to provide passengers with free high-speed Wi-Fi access on all subway trains by the end of June.

Using its own in-house technology, Shenzhen will become the first city in China to solve the pesky “subway interference problem” with wireless signals and also become the first city in the world to offer free high-speed Wi-Fi on its metro system.

Similar Wi-Fi infrastructure is expected to be installed in subways in other large Chinese cities such as Shanghai and Beijing in the near future.
