Shenzhen Introduces Superbuses
Feb 04, 2010 By eChinacities.com

The M201 Bus Line in Shenzhen recently introduced 10 super buses to meet the booming traffic need. Stretching a whopping 13.7 m (45 feet) long, the superbuses are almost 3 meters (9.8 ft) longer than ordinary buses, and able to transport 150 passengers at a time. During rush hour, the departure intervals will be shortened from 3 minutes to 2, and another 25 buses will be added to the routes before the Spring Festival. With the addition of the superbuses and increased schedule, it is expected that 2000 more people will be transported from Huaqiang North to Hailinguan during rush hour every day. Another 100 super buses have been purchased by the bus group to be added to busy lines during the coming year.
