Shenzhen Becomes Most Crowded City in China

Shenzhen has surpassed Beijing, Guangzhou and Hong Kong in terms of population density, with 15 million people living on the city’s 1,991 square kilometres (or 7785 people per square kilometre), according to the city’s land department. In addition to making Shenzhen China’s most crowded city, the southern city now ranks as the world’s fifth most crowded city following Mumbai, Calcutta, Karachi and Lagos.
