According to the Shenyang Subway Construction Department, Shenyang Subway Line 2 is expected to begin trial operations before the end of the year. The Shenyang Subway Line 2 engineering project began construction in November 2006 and cost 9.49 Billion RMB.
Line 2 runs north from Santaizi Station (台子站) south to Quanyun Lu Station (全运路站), and features 19 stops altogether. The entire line runs 21.86 kilometres and is completely underground. Ticket prices for Line 2 will be the same as Line 1—fewer than 8 stops cost 2 RMB, 9-12 stops cost 3 RMB, and more than 13 stops cost 4 RMB.
