Shenyang Installs "Flash to Pay", Consumers No Longer Must "Swipe and Sign"
Oct 28, 2011 By eChinacities.com

Approximately one million point-of-sales machines (cash registers) throughout Shenyang's shopping malls and supermarkets were recently modified to allow consumers to "wave" their IC Bank cards to pay, instead of handing their card to the sales clerk to swipe and then sign. Cardholders using the IC card payment method can simply wave their card at the machine and complete the transaction immediately without signing or entering a password. The standard terminology for this payment method is "flash to pay".
