Shanghai’s Population Density Highest in China

The Shanghai Municipal Statistics Bureau recently released more results calculated from the 2010 national census. According to the report, on November 1, 2010, Shanghai’s officially registered population was 23.0192 million strong. The average rate increase has been about 3.4% each year since 2000. Over the past decade, Shanghai’s population density has also risen from 2,588 people per sq. km to 3,631 people, making Shanghai the most densely populated city in all of China.
