Police in Shanghai’s Chongming county checked into a strange incident at a hospital there, where a middle-aged woman began repeatedly slapping a doctor because she was displeased with the medical diagnosis given.
The police learned that the 44-year-old woman was accompanying her mother who was seeing the doctor for a case of diarrhea, and that woman wasn’t pleased with the female doctor’s diagnosis for her mother. Incidentally she started an argument with the female doctor and began slapping her, causing soft tissue damage.
The woman in question refused to admit to any illegal behavior, but the police have detained her for 10 days and fined her 500 RMB.

i would not blame her if she slapped the dr, based on my experience here drs will kill you, been trough different hospitals bec of stomach pain, i was given different diagnosis which is totally insane diagnosis, adv me for major operation, had a couple of test and couple of blood test, and whats worst infused me with a lot of anti biotics which really makes me sick, good thing a friend of mine she knows an american dr whom i consulted who was able to give me proper treatment.

Whatever the diagnosis is physical violence is criminal. The ease of resorting to violence of all kinds in this society says everything about the nature of this breed, and country.

not eough info here. what was the diagnosis? why was she dissatisfied? i hate these useless opinion-forming pieces. since we are intented to dislike the patient, i'm inclined to guess the doctor was cheating her.

Would she had preferred that the doctor lie to her? Doctors can't win in China, they tell the truth... they get slapped and beaten. They lie, they get killed... I think the street cleaners in China get more respect. And have safer jobs.

5/6 years in med school, heavy competition and possibly having to make some connections just to end up getting slapped by a lady with more cash than class
