Shanghai West Railway Station will start passenger transportation in 2010

In the future, Shanghai West Railway Station will become a traffic hub integrated with intercity railway and subway. At the moment it's only used for cargo transportation but starting in 2010 it will also become a stop for Lines 11, 15, and 16. Putuo District released the “Zhenrufu Central Railway Shanghai West Railway Station Comprehensive Transportation Hub Project Scheme” on Dec. 23rd, 2008 and construction of the project will begin at the end of December 2008.
