The cosmopolitan city of Shanghai is a fascinating place to visit at any time of the year, but travelers tend to avoid the cold winter months and the scorching July and August. The best time of the year to visit is early autumn.
Shanghai is a sprawling city and many of the attractions are spread far apart, so travelling for up to an hour to get one from one place to the next is quite common. The good news though is that Shanghai has one of the best metro networks in the country that can take you to almost any major destination in the city.
