Bicycles

Shanghai tourist areas are spread out and are not all centrally located. Its best pick a few attractions clustered together and rent a bike to go see them. Biking is a great way to experience the city and get some exercise. Currently, certain Giant Manufacturing Co. stores offer bike rental services. Renting a newer ATX mountain bike model will cost about 50 RMB per day, but comes with a helmet and lock. (Bike rentals require a 1,200 RMB deposit). Shanghai city dwellers often use bicycles because they are so convenient, so rent a bike and become a local for the day.
