During the Xuedun festival, the price of the twelve-day sightseeing trip, leaving Shanghai and traveling through Lhasa to Nyingchi, Shigatse and Namtso, is 5980 RMB – 20 percent higher than usual.

The Potala Palace, home to the Xuedun Festival also controls the flow of tourists. As a result, tourists have to book tickets in advance and present their ID cards when they do so.
