Shanghai Population Increased by 9.6 Million in Last 20 Years

According to a new statistic gathered from China’s 2010 population census, the permanent population of Shanghai has grown to 23.0191 million, from 13.3419 million in 1990. This represents an increase of 9.6772 million over a 20-year period. In other words, Shanghai grew by an average of 483,900 more people every year.
