Shanghai – Nanjing High Speed Train Starts Ticket Sales on June 25th

Tickets and train schedules for the operation of Shanghai – Nanjing High Speed Railway have been determined and confirmed; 120 sets of trains will be in operation and tickets will start sale at 8:00 in the morning of June 25th. As the new intercity railway begins operation, it will provide fast connection from Shanghai Hongqiao to Nanjing (express trains will be just under 73 minutes); trains are just 5 minutes apart for travel high tide and second-class tickets are priced at 146 RMB.

98 sets (18 of which will start operations during high travel season) of express trains traveling up to 300 – 350 km/hour are designated for the newly completed railway. These trains are marked with G to signify 'gao' or high speed. The 98 sets include 70 traveling from Shanghai (Shanghai Hongqiao) to Nanjing, 6 to Changzhou, 7 traveling to Wuxi, 12 to Suzhou, and 3 to Kunshan (South Railway Station).

22 sets of trains traveling up to 200 -250 km/hour will be making interchanges between rail lines. These trains are marked with D to signify 'dong' or multiple unit trains. The 22 sets include 8.5 traveling from Shanghai Hongqiao to Wuhan (Wuchang, Hankou), 3.5 to Hefei (Lu'an), and 10 other remaining sets that will start operations as soon as services are given enough time to mature and develop.
