Nov 12, 2009 By eChinacities.com

It has been estimated that Shanghai’s new Metro Line 7 will carry about one million passengers a year. The new line, whose construction is in the final phase, is one of three new Metro Lines built in preparation of the 2010 Shanghai Expo. The annual capacity of the line is second only to Lines 1 and 2. It will run through the northern city’s Baoshan District to Pudong New Area. A total of 28 new stations are opening to passengers before the Expo.
