Hongmei Lu 虹梅路

Offers a wide variety of Shanghai snacks, such as YangChun Noodles and Five-Spiced Beans.

Add: Xuhui District, Shanghai

Huanghe Lu 黄河路
Great place to indulge in traditional Chinese dishes like stinky tofu, fried dough (Man Tou), and more. Huanghe Lu also has various expensive Chinese seafood restaurants, geared primarily for large groups.

Wujiang Lu 吴江路
Short and compact, this twisty alleyway is packed with fiercely competitive shops selling snacks and small meals. If you are looking for cheap grub then Wujiang Lu is the right place for you. A hearty meal usually won’t cost more than 10 RMB. Packed during weeknights, this place sells the best Tu Jia Bing (Xinjiang bread with herbs and spices) and Rou Jia Mo (kebab) for only 3 RMB. Don’t expect to see an English menu around, though—the best way to order food is to just point and nod.

Add: Luwan District, Shanghai

Yunnan Nanlu 云南南路
Yunnan Nanlu is probably the most popular snack street since everything is quite cheap. It offers lots of traditional Shanghainese snacks, such as fried stuffed buns, steamed stuffed buns, shrimp wontons, and pumpkin cake. If you come here and don’t know what to have, we highly recommend the steak rice cake at Xiandelai, the buns at the Nanxiang Steamed Bun Shop, and the tender boiled chicken at the famous Xiao Shao Xing Restaurant.

Add: Huangpu District, Shanghai

Zhapu Lu 乍浦路
This "food street" in Shanghai is where locals go to get good Chinese food. The majority of restaurants are upscale, offering private banquent rooms, and tanks displaying their live seafood.

QiBao Snack Street 七宝小吃街
Located about 18 km from downtown Shanghai, QiBao makes a nice change of pace from the hubbub of the modern metropolis. Here you can find famous stores here like Cricket House, Mr. Zhang Chong-ren’s Memorial, the Ancient Teahouse, the Old Wine Shop, the Textile Mill and the Tutoring Temple, as well as snack shops selling lamb meat, preserved pork, square rice cakes, sticky rice dough, and much more. A great place to go for a day trip.

Gu Ling Lu Snack Street 牯岭路小吃一条街
Guling Lu boasts many well known restaurants such as Guoyue Longshan Restaurant, Wuyue Renjia Noodle Restaurant, Jin Shifu Wonton Restaurant, Dama Dumplings, Kunshan Ao Zao Guan, and the UBC Coffee Shop.
