Feb 06, 2010 By eChinacities.com

The first batch of commercial cards for the Shanghai Expo was released on Jan. 27. The card will replace the need for cash with quick and easy electronic payments during the Expo, covering tourism, hotels, shopping and other consumption both inside the Expo site and around the city. A number of malls, restaurants and hotels are also expected to support the Expo card payment. Travelers from Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong and Anhui provinces may find the card still available in certain stores and restaurants when they return home after the Expo. The Spring Festival edition of Expo cards will be released in post offices, each with a gift box including an Expo admission ticket, an Expo emblem and stamps celebrating Expo mascot and the Year of the Tiger.
