Shanghai Botanical Gardens to Launch Night Owl Events
Aug 07, 2009 By eChinacities.com

From the 1st of August onwards, Shanghai Botanical Gardens are offering “Botanical Gardens Night Owl Events.” Since opening in 1974, this will be the first such night event to be held at the Botanical Gardens. An expert has said that at night, the Botanical Gardens offer some unique sights. Many insects and plants try to get closer contact with humans at night. From the 1st of August, Shanghai Botanical Gardens are accepting enrolments for the night event, to be held every Saturday, thus allowing Shanghai residents to learn more about the beautiful creatures in the Botanical Gardens. However, it is easy for accidents to occur at this time due to the garden’s lack of adequate lighting facilities, uneven terrain and densely covered water surface. Therefore, in order to ensure visitors’ safety, the Botanical Gardens will limit the number of visitors, as well as to arrange the event times according to priority enrollment. To sign up for a place, call 5436523. The event will take place until August 31st.
