According to official data released on Shanghai’s economic and social development, Shanghai’s GDP for 2013 was over two trillion RMB, an increase of 7.5% on the previous year. Yearly GDP per capita was reported to be 85,033 RMB. It was also reported that 20% of urban families and 14% of rural families owned a car.
