According to the Sanya Tourist Committee, Sanya’s tourism industry has been developing steadily, with 360,700 tourists during the first three quarters of the year, representing an 18% rise from last year. According to statistics, there have been increases in tourists coming from almost every region in the world; African (89% increase) and Filipino (116% increase) markets have grown the fastest. Russia is also seeing increased growth, as two more direct flights from the country’s eastern coast to Sanya opened in March (attracting a lot of sun-deprived northerners). But South Korea wins for most tourists, having taken first place away from the European market.
