Russian Cellist Fired from Beijing Symphony Orchestra

Oleg Vedernikov, the Russian cellist who made headlines recently for his rude behaviour towards a female passenger on a train, has been dismissed from the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, despite issuing a public apology after the incident caused major uproar. The news was announced by Beijing Symphony Orchestra management on May 21. According to the orchestra, Mr Vedernikov’s behaviour had a negative impact on the orchestra’s reputation; it was on these grounds that he was dismissed.
