According to an inside source, a taxi price increase proposal has already been submitted to the Guangzhou Municipal Government and is awaiting final approval. It is expected that the increase will be announced at the end of the month or in the beginning of September, and will be officially implemented starting on October 1st. It is expected that the starting price of a cab will increase to 10 RMB.
