Rules for Legally Buying and Setting Off Fireworks in Ningbo Announced

Residents in Ningbo can legally purchase and set off fireworks from January 21st to February 7th, a total of 18 days. Areas in central Ningbo which allow the use of fireworks include: Haishu District; Jiangdong District; Jiangbei District (except for Hongtang Jiedao, Zhuangqiao Jiedao and Cichengzhen); certain areas of Yinzhou District including areas south of Yinxian Dadao, areas north of Yinzhou Dadao, areas west of Tongsan Highway, areas east of Xueshi Lu and areas surrounding Sitiao Donglu.

There are seven areas where the selling and setting off of fireworks is not permitted. These areas include: areas near protected cultural relics; major transport hubs like bus stations, ports, airport, train stations etc.; areas near the manufacturing of explosive or flammable goods or storage spaces; protected transmission and distribution areas; medical facilities, kindergardens, schools and old folk homes; areas with wooded mountains and grasslands; commodity trade markets etc.
