Off season means cheap cheap tickets. From late February until early March flights from Guangzhou are as much as a third to two-thirds off. You can fly to Haikou for 50 RMB, Chongqing for 120 RMB, Chengdu for 180 RMB, Wuhan for 200 RMB, Xiamen for 260 RMB, Hangzhou for 300 RMB, and Lijiang for 700 RMB among many other offers. Though a quick FYI before you get too excited, all these prices exclude tax fees (which lets be honest is how they get you).
