A Rechargeable monthly subway pass went on sale officially on January 9 at Chengdu subway stations. The pass keeps track of every time a passenger rides the subway and deducts one ride from the card. Such monthly subway passes cost 90 Yuan, including a deposit of 10 Yuan, and it allows a passenger to ride the subway 40 times regardless of the length of the trip. It is valid for 30 days and after passengers have used all of their previous 40 rides or after the card has expired (whichever comes first), passengers can then recharge the card with another 40 rides by paying 80 Yuan.
