What’s worse than finding a hedgehog in your pillow case?

Having a rat crawl up your trouser leg in a restaurant.

Hard as it is to believe, that’s exactly what happened to one unsuspecting patron of a hot pot restaurant in Chongqing.

A video, which starts with a rat’s tail peeking out of a man’s tight blue jeans, has gone viral on Chinese social media.

The hot pot restaurant is understandably in chaos as the man and his friends try various methods to remove the unwelcome trouser lodger.

The footage is believed to have been shot while the man was eating dinner on Thursday night.

Staff at the eatery can be heard encouraging the man’s friends to kill the rat while desperately pleading with them not to take photos.

Eventually we see the man casually smoking a cigarette while holding the possibly dead rodent by the tail.

If that’s not enough to put you off hot pot for life, we don’t know what is.

Live rats are actually considered a delicacy in some parts of China...it was probably just the dessert that got loose.

The public health campaign 除四害讲卫生 worked well in China for many years in the past.Probably, it is necessary now to re-start this campaign but to exclude sparrows from the list.
