Railway tickets for Chinese New Year sold in Shanghai

Railway tickets for Jan 24 can be purchased today.

Some railway ticketing offices will be adjusted from Jan. 15th 2009 onwards:

1. Opening hours for ticketing offices in Shanghai Railway Station South Square, Shanghai South Railway Station, Beijing Donglu and all agents are changed to 8am.
2. Starting 1pm on Jan 15th 2009, the ticketing office in the Shanghai Railway Station south square will stop selling tickets to Anhui, Jiangsu and Zhejiang and only sells tickets of that very day.
3. The temporary ticketing office in Shanghai Railway Station north square will sell tickets of that very day.
4. The ticketing office in Shanghai South Railway Station will begin to sell tickets to various stations nationwide 10 days in advance including those to Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui.
5. The pre-sale period in the ticketing offices on the first and second floor of Shanghai Railway Station United Ticketing Building will be changed to 6 days.

The tickets for long-distance passenger buses departing on Jan 25th 2009 will be available on Jan. 18th 2009, only 7 days in advance.
