Since January 1st of 2009, roast and bean products without a QS mark - which indicates a product meets the standards of quality safety - cannot be sold.
Currently, the time for on-site checkups has been reduced from the previous 20 days to 3 days and it takes only 5 days instead of 15 days for an applicant to receive a QS certificate, said officials from the Guangzhou Municipality Administration of Quality and Technology.
As for products made by qualified producers, it should carry a QS mark on the unified package and a QS mark on the plastic frame for a non-unified package.
