Qingdao Dragon Boat Culture Week Opens June 16

The 2012 1st (Xiaolei) Qingdao Haiyun An Dragon Boat Festival Culture Week will open from June 16 to 23 on Haiyun An Square. The week will feature various traditional events such as ethnic performances, zongzi (glutinous rice dumplings) making competitions and egg painting contests. A total of 30 booths will be set up on the square, featuring an array of well-known zongzi brands for sale. A number of events related to the Dragon Boat Festival will also be held at the Qingdao Folk Customs Museum and visitors can enjoy a discount of 70% on admission prices during the event period.
