Qingdao residents passing by Yanerdao Lu may notice that over 100 Camphor trees on both side of the street were wrapped up tightly. The reason for this is that these trees are from the south and have just arrived in Qingdao for two years. Yaoerdao Lu is at the seashore exposed to strong sea winds and fog. The landscape department has been taking action to ensure water conservation of the trees and to protect them against cold and freezing conditions every winter.
