A programmer for China’s State Post Bureau was sentenced to a year in prison yesterday for stealing and selling the personal information of over 150,000 people. He was able to steal the information due to his employment position that required him to work on an information database there.

The 27-year-old programmer sold the information of ten thousand people for a grand total price of 785 Yuan. In addition to his one-year prison term, he was also given a year of probation and a fine of 10,000 Yuan.
