Post 90’s Kid Earns 200K Making Apologies for People
Jun 16, 2015 By eChinacities.com

Lei Bin, a post 90’s kid from Anhui province, opened an online store in 2013 providing “special services” that has earned a shocking amount of money in a short amount of time. To the outside observer it would seem that there’s nobody who’d ever be interested in this store, yet in the past 5 months, this small shop has earned up to 200,000 RMB.

Lei Bin describes his job as an “engineer of sentiments.” Some services he provides for his clients include expressing feelings for apologies, breaking up, or affection. In some categories he even provides extra options which require additional charges. For example, someone purchasing an apology can pay 500 RMB for him to take a beating.

Once in 2014 he went to Shaoxing, Zhejiang helping somebody make an apology and was beaten so bad that his face swelled up. Lei Bin says that this was his first time in his life being beaten up, and that in most cases the people receiving his apologies tend to control their emotions.

Another time, a customer from Chao Zhou, Zhejiang had a dream that made him seek out Lei Bin’s services over the internet, hoping to entrust Lei Bin with praying for him. Lei Bin says that in order to pray for the man, he had to practice twice, and in the end only needed 30 minutes to finish. Even though there wasn’t any kind of supervision, he provided the service in full with sincerity thus helping the purchaser be at calm.

At the end of May, Lei Bin received an especially strange request order for an apology. A man from Hu Bei province told him that because of problems with his legs and feet, he couldn’t pray for a friend who had passed away and needed Lei Bin to visit his friend’s tomb and express his apologies.

In another instance, a post 90’s girl named Tang Li found Lei Bin’s services online after she and her boyfriend had an argument that resulted in her boyfriend leaving home. Tang Li made a 2000 RMB downpayment tearfully expressing to Lei Bin that she hoped he could help solve the issue. In that time, Lei Bin spent an entire week meticulously creating numerous “coincidences” which allowed the couple to reunite in harmony.
Lei Bin says that most people know the reason behind their problems but they inherently lack a third party willing to go through great lengths to tackle those issues. He hopes to continue his line of work in the future and establish a company that offers even more services.

The kid has actually engineered a way to capitalize on the moral cowardice in this country...brilliant! He'll be a billionaire in 3 years, I bet.

Idea is good I agree. I wouldn't bet on sustain profit though, my friend. This being china, before the end of this year 999999 copycats of both sexes will vaporise half his profit, by this time next year the competition will be so high that you probably can chop off their hands or whatever part you like for RMB 200.

Perhaps, but consider this: How many Chinese people do you know who would actually apologize to someone? Pray for a person they don't know? Empathize? I'm sure that the copycats would love to drive him out of business, but he does have this culture's Achilles heel. It would take a rare copycat who isn't too big of a moral coward to actually do these things.
