Popularity of Harbin’s Russian-style Bread Has Skyrocketed Among Tourists

With so many tourists traveling to Harbin to experience its famous ice and snow festivals, the city’s distinctive local snacks have become very popular among out-of-towners.

Every day along the central Zhongyang Avenue in Harbin, the two Russian-style bakeries prepare twenty to thirty meters of bread, the majority of which is for hungry tourists from all across China. According to reports, the volume of business done by the bakeries along Zhongyang Avenue has skyrocketed over the years, as Russian-style bread become a must-sample item for tourists traveling to Harbin.
