An online residence permit service was launched on November 1st to cater for Guangzhou’s growing population of permanent foreign residents. It is estimated that approximately 20,000 permanent foreign residenst currently live in Guangzhou. The online service will allow foreigners to re-apply for their residence permit through the public security website at www.gzjd.gov.cn
