New Visa Regulations for Chengdu Foreigners

New Visa Regulations for Chengdu Foreigners
Jun 03, 2014 By eChinacities.com

From today, June 3, foreigners working or claiming residence in Chengdu will be required to complete a criminal record check from their home country.

The Chengdu Exit and Entry Bureau introduced the new initiative, which will apply to any foreigners who wish to apply to work, study, marry, or immigrate to the city.

Immigration controls have become increasingly stricter over the past few years, with authorities across China clamping down on illegal workers in the country.

Anyone who has dealt with the notorious Chinese bureaucracy will be letting out a simultaneous sigh at this extra hoop to jump through.
