This year the city launched its ‘Financially Smart Beijing’ program, as the city is in urgent need of authorized financial experts. No matter how long the period the experts come to Beijing for, during their stay they can receive special privileges.

Holders of the Foreign Expert License will enjoy high end medical insurance among other services to help make their stay, and integration, as convenient as possible.

Originally valid for a year, the Foreign Experts License can now be extended up to five years. Foreign experts won’t be subject to normal visa restrictions, when applying for a visa they can enjoy a fast track ‘green lane’ service. What’s more, the License will afford the holder the same rights as a Chinese citizen until it expires, making it easier to purchase property and conduct business.

Children and spouses of the foreign experts can get residence permits for the duration of the foreign expert’s license and their children can study at whichever International School they choose in the city. Outstanding foreign experts will also get the opportunity to participate in the nomination and recommendation of Awards for Foreign Experts.
