The new Guangzhou Library officially opened on June 23. Featuring a total space of 98,000sqm, the new library has a north building (floors 8-9) and a south building (floors 1-6) which play host to around 3.8 million books.
Floors eight and nine of the north section of the library will be designated multi-cultural and Guangzhou humanities areas respectively; while floor one of the south section will feature a reading zone; floors two and three will include children’s picture books; floor four will also be reading zone; and floors five and six will feature ebook and IT areas as well as language learning materials respectively.
