This year, the Guangzhou International Biology Island will enter a peak stage of construction with such infrastructures as landscape banks and standard industrial units, all of which are to be completed before the end of this year. By the end of this year, at the latest, the first entity building on the Island, the No. 1 Standard Industrial Unit, will hopefully be unveiled.
The area having the Guangzhou Station of Metro Line 4 as its center is Life Plaza, which is in the middle of Biology Island. This will be both the technical support center and the core of the landscape on the Island. The Plaza deploys the Life Science Research Center, a Comprehensive Business Management Center, the Convention and Exhibition Center, Commerce and Finance Center, a Citizen's Square, a Public Parking Lot and other facilities, all designed to form a comprehensive functional core served by public transit.
