Nansha to Build Guangdong's Largest Aquatic Products Base Supplying Hong Kong and Macau

On the morning of March 26th, the largest existing Aquatic Product Base Supplying Hong Kong, Macau & the Agricultural Cooperation Demonstration Area in Guangdong Province laid its foundation in Nansha. The Base is situated within the 20th and 21st Circles, covering an area of 14,906 Mu (about 994 hectares). The total investment was estimated to be RMB 1.5 billion. The project would be built in three phases. The Phase I Seashore Fishing Harbor will be completed and put into use by the end of this year and the International Aquatic Seedlings Incubation Base would also start construction this year.

The aquatic product base would raise quality and branded products appropriate for both salt and fresh water, including Lates calcarifer, Lucioperca, Epinephelus, Prawns, White Vannamei Shrimps, clupeoids, hagus argus, American Red Fish, Sparus latus Houttuyn and Lateolabrax japonicus. The total annual output could reach about 15,000 tons.
