Nansha Bonded Port to Begin Official Operations
Feb 17, 2009 By eChinacities.com
With the initiation of official operations of the Nansha Bonded Port to begin in the second half of 2009, Guangzhou will boast highly coordinated functions related to bonded logistics.
Covering 7.06 square kilometers, the Nansha Bonded Port is located on the west bank of the mouth of the Pearl River and is composed of zones focusing on port operations, warehousing & processing and port-related services.
In the port, foreign goods shall be treated as goods in bond and export rebates shall be available for domestic goods. Additionally, no value-added tax and consumption tax shall be charged for trades of goods between enterprises within the port.
According to the new policies, enterprises can obtain export rebates once their goods are warehoused when previously they could only get export rebates when their cargos had left the port. Thus the new system helps save one or two weeks' time for enterprises and ease financial pressure in an important way.
