Taxis in Nanning cost 7 RMB for the first 2 km, with a surcharge of 1.6 RMB for each additional kilometer. Any trips exceeding 2 km will have a 3 RMB fuel surcharge. Trips within 2 km do not have this surcharge added. The city also has a number of luxury taxis which cost a little more, and both kinds of taxis have night surcharges. Taxi drivers are unlikely to speak English or read pinyin, so visitors are advised to have their destination address written in Chinese characters.
