Nanjing to Sell Real-Name Bullet Train Tickets from May 22nd
May 06, 2011 By eChinacities.com

Starting from June 1st, a real-name system for buying bullet train tickets will be implemented. Passengers who wish to buy tickets will have to present valid identification each time they purchase bullet train tickets (except children exempt from buying tickets or children in possession of special children’s tickets).

All Nanjing railway stations (including train ticket outlets) plan to implement the real-name system by May 22nd.  According to the new rule, all valid passengers need to show at least one form of ID out of 25 kinds of identification certificates specified by Nanjing Railway Bureau. These include ID cards, passports, residence permit for foreigners and foreign entry permits.
