Feb 06, 2010 By eChinacities.com

Water buses will start running on Nanjing’s Qinhuai River as early as May. The ferry route is scheduled run north-south between Sancha River and Yuhua Gate, a 35-minute journey with 15 stops. The project is divided into three major steps. First, launch the water bus lines for transportation and sightseeing use between the mouth of the Yangtze River and Wudingmen Park. Second, connect the external Qinhuai River with the internal river and the Yangtze River. Third, connect the water bus routes to major tourism spots. The water bus will be a feasible transportation alternative with a highest speed of 20-25 km/h. Tickets will be priced within 4 RMB and you will be able to use your IC card to pay the fare.
