Nanjing Puts Electricity-Powered Buses to Trial Use
Mar 10, 2010 By eChinacities.com

Recently, Nanjing Tour Line 1 has initiated the use of electricity-powered buses. The interior of the bus measures 12 m in length and has 28 seats; aside from it being more roomy than most current buses, the electric bus also operates with very little noise and no gaggling smell of gasoline. There are also two air-inflated bags on both sides of tires, so as to have more cushion support for passengers getting on and off buses.

The first power-recharge station for the electricity operated buses is located near the Maigaoqiao metro station and is now in full operation. Electricity service department of the city has planned for the construction of four more of these power-recharge stations by the end of September this year.
