“2009 Nanjing International Plum Blossom Festival” is open on the plum square of the Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum starting the morning of February 20. It will last for one month this year with the theme—“Enjoying thousands of plum blossoms, spreading fraternity”. Various activities on tourism, business and trade, cultures will be carried out to stimulate Nanjing’s tourism economy.

Nine highlights include photographic works by famous photographers in the Hidden Scent Pavilion; contributing exhibition of Children’s calligraphies and paintings; a carnival for children; performances of minorities; art exhibition of plum miniature gardening and “international landing” photo exhibition of plum varieties in the plum garden; food exhibition and marketing in the south of the Hidden Scent Pavilion; 360°global screen film exhibition—“Grand Tomb of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang” in the new hall of the museum.

At the end of February or the beginning of March, the Fu Jia Bian of Lishui will hold the Lishui Plum Blossom Festival; the Jiang Xin Island will carry out a series of folk traditional activities and performances before March with the theme—“Rhythm of Spring”, such as “Happy Beginning of Spring on the River, Eight-Up for Your New Year”, etc. An enjoyable natural charms festival on the Ox Head Mountain will be held from the middle of March to April, so will the Jiangning “Ox Head Mountain in Spring” cultural tourism festival.

Nanjing is going to hold a tourism exhibition from March 21 to 22 in order to bring in investments and explore more exhibition areas like international exhibitions, Nanjing suburban areas touring, biological tour belt from Nanjing to Hangzhou, and characteristic exhibitions in the countryside.
