Nanjing-Beijing High-speed Rail Tickets in Short Supply

Nanjing-Beijing High-speed Rail Tickets in Short Supply
Aug 19, 2011 By eChinacities.com

Now that the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail has put into effect the new route map, train tickets are in high demand. A reporter at the Nanjing South Station noticed that tickets from Nanjing-Xuzhou, Nanjing-Tianjin, and other routes were all hard to get. Even the Nanjing-Beijing route can't meet the demand for tickets, and even second-class tickets are next to impossible to get. According to reports, this is due to two reasons (besides the recent reduction in the rail's transport capacity):  first, many people from surrounding cities are rushing in to Nanjing to buy tickets, and second, a huge wave of students are currently in the process of heading back to university.
