Former NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady, caused a frenzy when he arrived at Qingdao Airport on the morning of Oct 24. The star, who was recently recruited to play for the Qingdao DoubleStar Eagles, was surrounded by a large crowd of star-struck fans at the international arrivals area of the airport – many of whom had been waiting at the airport since the early morning hours. However, because of the staggering turnout of fans at the airport and ensuing safety concerns, the DoubleStar Eagles team decided to cancel the initially scheduled press conference and meet-and-greet event.
According to reports, McGrady will be doing a health check in Qingdao and if the results come out normal, his contract with the Eagles will come into effect.
