More than 90% of Women in Chongqing Believe Men Should Do More Housework

The Chongqing Municipal Women's Federation recently released the second issue of the "White Paper on Chongqing Women's Social Status Survey". This survey, which lasted over one year, was taken by 3,225 women and covers economic, marital, health, education, legal rights and other issues. On the topic of household duties, the survey showed that 92.1% of Chongqing women agreed that "men should also actively help out with housework"; higher than the nationwide average of 88.6%. As for views of gender, the survey data shows that 72.7% of Chongqing women believe that men's and women's social status is about the same; 13.2 percentage points higher than the nationwide average. Finally, 80.5% of Chongqing women felt that "Women's abilities are no different than men's abilities".
